Meet Our Newest Team Member: WAYNE!

We understand that dental visits can cause anxiety for patients of all ages. While dental sedation can be a great way to manage dental anxiety, there is now another exciting option available at our Wilmington – The Pointe location: our specially-trained support dog, WAYNE. Canine companions have long brought calm to nervous situations and offer many benefits in the healthcare setting by reducing patients’ anxiety and stress.
WAYNE Is Our Lovable Facility Dog
WAYNE is a Golden Retriever named after the Hollywood star John Wayne. He has passed rigorous training through the paws4people® foundation to be our office’s Facility Dog. He aids in reducing dental anxiety to provide a positive dental experience for our CarolinasDentist patients, and is already a patient-favorite among our team! WAYNE loves his role and quickly creates bonds with patients of all ages, including children.
How to Meet WAYNE
Do you think you and/or your child would benefit from having WAYNE join you during your appointment? Please request his comforting presence for your next visit! While you may be able to meet WAYNE without making prior arrangements, we encourage you to call beforehand so we can make sure he will be at the office when he is needed. Like our other friendly team members, WAYNE may be out of the office on certain days.
If you are not ready to meet WAYNE yet or have a dog allergy, please let us know ahead of time. This information will be helpful to our team, as we strive to make everyone’s experience enjoyable at our office.
