Fluoride Treatments

Protect Your Beautiful Smile with Concentrated Fluoride

Fluoride helps strengthen tooth enamel and protect against cavities. It works by rebuilding weakened enamel and making teeth more resistant to acid and bacteria. Fluoride can also help reverse early signs of tooth decay before irreversible cavities develop.

Whether it’s applied through toothpaste, water, or professional treatments, fluoride is an important tool for keeping your teeth strong and healthy. Interested in learning more about our preventive services? Contact your nearest CarolinasDentist location today!

Are fluoride treatments necessary?

Fluoride treatments are especially helpful for patients who are more prone to cavities, including children, teens, and adults with weakened enamel or dry mouth. While daily brushing with fluoride toothpaste helps, in-office treatments provide a higher concentration for added protection. These treatments are quick, painless, and a great preventive step for long-term oral health. We recommend them based on each patient’s individual risk factors and dental needs.

Do adults need fluoride treatments?

Adults can absolutely benefit from fluoride treatments, especially if they are at higher risk for cavities, have gum recession, or experience dry mouth. Fluoride helps protect exposed tooth roots and reinforces enamel weakened by aging, acid wear, or medical conditions. During your exam, we’ll assess whether fluoride treatments are right for you as part of a preventive care plan.

Are fluoride treatments safe?

Fluoride treatments used in dental offices are safe and approved by the American Dental Association. The amount used is carefully measured to strengthen teeth without risk. Side effects are very rare, and the treatment only takes a few minutes. We take every precaution to ensure your safety and comfort during fluoride application.

Are fluoride treatments expensive?

Fluoride treatments are one of the most affordable ways to help prevent cavities and protect your teeth. Many dental insurance plans cover fluoride treatments for children and sometimes for adults at higher risk. Even without insurance, they are typically low in cost and can save money in the long run by helping avoid more complex dental procedures.

I recently had an emergency appointment for a crown that fell out. Thankfully I was able to be seen the next day and had my new crown taken care of in no time. This office has all kinds of technology and equipment that really makes the patient experience better than I've had anywhere else. They were able to have my crown made and on my tooth in 2 hours.

Definitely my new dentistI called three different dental offices and even visited one in person, but none would take me as an emergency walk-in, except for this facility. The staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the dental hygienist was both kind and informative.I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. William Graham, who was absolutely outstanding. He was patient, took the time to address my concerns, and conducted a thorough examination. He provided me with several options for addressing my dental issue.I realize I may have taken up more time than usual, but I never felt rushed. He patiently answered all my questions and listened carefully to my worries. After being with my previous dentist for the last decade, I’ve found a new place to call my dental home. They were able to see me right away, and with four doctors on staff, I won’t have to wait a month for an emergency appointment again.I'm really grateful that they could accommodate me today, and I would highly recommend this practice to anyone in need of dental care.Earlene R Petite
