Originally from Bradenton, Florida, Dr. Sammi Wood brings her warm, energetic personality and strong clinical foundation to our Winston-Salem team. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and a post-baccalaureate program at Temple University. Since graduating in 2023, Dr. Wood has quickly built a reputation for her compassionate care and genuine connection with her patients.
Dr. Wood loves being a dentist because “I love getting to know my patients and being part of the family! We get to see each other so frequently that I truly get to know the family updates throughout time and get to know all generations of the family! That is so special and unique to our career as healthcare providers!!” Her favorite dental tip? “Floss and brush the teeth you want to keep!!”
Outside of the office, Dr. Wood enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, playing pickleball, spending time outdoors, and snorkeling. A fun fact—she’s the youngest of four siblings, studied ecology field research in Kenya, and is a proud dog mom to her puppy, Tebow. Her favorite inspirational quote is, “Pressure makes diamonds.”
Dr. Wood is an active member of the ADA, NCDS, and Pankey alumni network, and she is passionate about creating lasting relationships with patients while providing comprehensive, high-quality care.
