Originally from Acapulco, Mexico, Karla Lopez brings her love for healthy smiles and patient care to our Winston-Salem office. A proud graduate of GTCC, Karla is early in her dental hygiene career—six months in—and recently joined the CarolinasDentist team in 2025.
For Karla, being a hygienist is all about helping patients improve both their health and their confidence. She believes small changes can make a big difference, and her top recommendation is simple: invest in an electric toothbrush and a water flosser. They’re two of the most effective tools for maintaining strong teeth and healthy gums.
When she’s not in the operatory, you’ll find Karla enjoying a few of her favorite hobbies. She loves getting lost in a good book, building with Legos, and taking on obstacle courses just for fun.
Her advice for future hygienists? The program is demanding, but the investment is worth it—your future self will thank you.
