Dimitra Cherry has more than 17 years of dental experience—and 11 of those as a registered dental hygienist—to our Gastonia office. A proud Gastonia native, she discovered her passion for smiles early on, graduating from the Highland School of Technology’s dental academy before earning her hygiene degree from Central Piedmont Community College.
Dimitra loves seeing joy on a patient’s face after a thorough cleaning and thrives on educating families about how to keep their smiles healthy. Her top tip: when brushing the inside of your front teeth, angle the toothbrush vertically to remove plaque before it hardens into tartar, and always floss daily.
Beyond the operatory, Dimitra embraces her Jamaican heritage and enjoys the vibrant culture that shaped her childhood. She met her husband when she was just 14, and today they’re busy raising three daughters—ages 17, 9, and 5. Weekends often find her on the sidelines as a dedicated soccer mom or cheering on her middle daughter in advanced gymnastics.
