April Rice is part of our Asheville office and is dedicated to helping patients feel confident in their smiles and comfortable during every dental visit. Originally from Eastern Kentucky, she attended the University of Kentucky and has been a dental hygienist for an impressive 29 years. Her decades of experience and patient-centered approach make her a valuable member of our team.
April chose a career in dentistry because she loves helping people feel better about their smiles and easing the anxiety that can sometimes come with visiting the dentist. She believes that building trust and creating a welcoming environment are key to helping patients maintain lifelong oral health.
Her top hygiene tip is simple but important: floss every day! Consistent flossing helps remove plaque and food particles from places your toothbrush can’t reach, making a big difference in your overall oral health.
When she’s not caring for patients, April enjoys spending time outdoors, getting lost in a good book, and crocheting. These hobbies help her stay creative, relaxed, and balanced outside of the office.
For students considering a career in dental hygiene, April’s advice is to learn and practice proper ergonomics from the very beginning. Developing healthy habits early can help ensure a long, successful, and comfortable career in dentistry.
