Dr. Roman was born in New Jersey and grew up in Orlando, FL, with Universal Studios and Disney World in his back yard. His parents were both in the commercial aviation industry (Eastern Airlines, US Airways), and he would have been a third-generation pilot if he had chosen that path. For a little while, it looked like his future was actually going to be in professional baseball, as he held several records as a pitcher during his years playing baseball at Florida State University. But shoulder injuries and a growing love for dentistry sent him on a different path that ended in a career as a dentist and a passion for the art and science of dentistry.
After completing his undergraduate degree, he and his wife, Cynthia, moved to Chapel Hill, NC, where he attended dental school at the University of North Carolina. He then transitioned to Fayetteville, where he chose to do an advanced education residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Dr. Roman is a firm believer that excellence is not an accident. That’s why he has averaged nearly five times the annual requirement for continuing education. He prides himself on staying on top of the newest treatments and the most current research, and he has been lecturing nationally on a number of different topics since 2010 in an effort to help other dentists enhance the care they provide their patients. His passion for teaching extends beyond mentoring dentists to educating his patients about their oral health so that they can make excellent decisions about which care to pursue.
Outside of the office, his greatest joy is spending time with his wife and four children, Lilah, Henry, Olivia, and Eloise. For him, family always comes first.
