Dr. Cameron has called Sandhills home for all of his life. He was born and grew up in Fayetteville and graduated from Terry Sanford High School, where he played both basketball and tennis. After graduation, he continued his education at Duke University, where he was honored as a research fellow at the Duke University Marine Lab in Beaufort, NC. After completing his education at Duke, he worked for two years as a marine biologist under multiple research grants.
Coming from a family of medical professionals, including a brother who is a neonatologist, a brother-in-law who is an orthopedic surgeon, and a sister who is a registered nurse, Dr. Cameron felt pulled to explore professional options in the medical arena. He naturally fell into the field of dentistry, and it quickly became his passion. He earned his DDS degree at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Cameron has gone above and beyond with his continuing education, averaging nearly five times the annual requirement since he began his career. Due to this dedication, he will be receiving his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction achieved by less than 5% of general dentists nationwide.
