Wisdom Teeth Removal in Cary, NC

Wisdom Teeth Removal

While not everyone who has wisdom teeth will need them removed, we may recommend it, especially if our dental team judges that their eruption will damage surrounding teeth, nerves, or bone—or even result in an infection. Just like with our hygiene services, we believe it’s best to face issues head-on instead of waiting for them to become more serious (and expensive to fix).

There’s no reason to sit around and let your wisdom teeth keep causing problems. Our dental team can make the pain go away! We can gently remove them to help you maintain a healthy smile and return to normal oral comfort levels. While oral surgery may sound intimidating, it’s actually nothing to fear. We utilize advanced tools, anesthetics, and sedation to ensure that you feel comfortable throughout the entire process. We’re committed to providing stress-free wisdom teeth removal at our North Carolina offices! Contact our office to learn more or schedule your wisdom teeth consultation today.

Wisdom Teeth: Third Set of Molars

Wisdom teeth are the final set of molars that erupt at the very back of the jaw. They usually come in sometime between the ages of 15 and 26. Some people have enough room for their wisdom teeth, and they come in easily. However, it’s not uncommon for wisdom teeth to cause a myriad of problems for patients and their oral health.

Why should I get my wisdom teeth removed?

This varies on a case-by-case basis. However, there are some common issues that wisdom teeth can cause that often require an extraction, such as:

  • Coming in at an angle
  • Crowding other teeth
  • Getting stuck under gums
  • Pushing other teeth

Does wisdom teeth removal hurt?

We strive to limit all discomfort during your wisdom teeth procedure by thoroughly numbing the areas around your wisdom teeth and using any necessary sedation. Because of this, the most you should feel is slight pressure while we perform our gentle dentistry.

How long is my recovery time?

That all depends on each individual patient. On average, it can take anywhere from two weeks to four to completely recover from wisdom teeth removal. The recovery period depends on how well you follow the aftercare instructions and take care of the healing area.
